Dramatic clouds comming in from the south across Paris. The photo is a little grainy and odd because its shot through a car window with some reflection disturbing the picture.
The cloud you see is an Cumulonimbus arcus or roll cloud that develops on the leading edge of a thunderstorm. At this moment I was just passing under the arcus front, so you can't clearly see the front itself only the bottom of it. More info can be found on wikipedia: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roll_cloud" . Some mammatus clouds were also present although not that obvious in this picture.

Wow this is one of the best pictures I have seen of a cumolonimbus cloud. You have to send this to a science textbook publisher!

Well its a shame that I didn't have the opportunity to stop because it would have made some great shots. I was driving down a highway with no rest stops insight, and the storm was moving pretty fast as well. You can see some reflections in the grassy part of the picture from my car window.
I licensed the picture already to a guy in switzerland. He wanted to use it for a cover CD with gospels. I though o well... no I have my flickr account for free the next 4 years.
